Since being called to the Alberta Bar in 2001, Eleanor Funk has dedicated her professional life to the practice of Criminal Law. For over 5 years, Ms. Funk worked as a Prosecutor for the Federal Department of Justice where she conducted countless preliminary hearings and trials, all dealing with drug and drug – related offences. Since 2007, Ms. Funk has focused her considerable legal talents on defending persons charged with Criminal Code and drug offences. She has trial experience in all types of criminal cases, ranging from minor shop lifting charges to first-degree murder; with particular experience in defending persons charged with drug and drug-related offences. Ms. Funk recently won a complete dismissal of all charges in the largest reported seizure of ‘magic mushrooms’ in Canada.
Ms. Funk has argued, and won, cases in all levels of Court in Alberta, as well as in the Saskatchewan Court of Queen’s Bench; and has assisted on appeals to the Supreme Court of Canada.
